The Japanese restaurant Kappo Fujiwara, located approximately six minutes on foot
from Kyoto’s Keihan Gion-Shijō Station, allows customers a chance to enjoy
the traditional Japanese “kappo” style of cooking which caters directly
to their culinary desires.
The ability of the customer to enjoy friendly conversation over the counter
while watching the chef prepare their food with a skilled hand backed
by a wealth of experience is the true charm of “kappo” cuisine.
The restaurant’s owner has overseas cooking experience as well, and
he hopes to have as many people as possible experience
the charm of his unique “kappo” cuisine blending both Japanese
and Western elements. His motto is “all regular customers start
with a first visit,” and he holds all of his customers
and his interactions with them dear as he serves them.

Rarities Which Know No Boundaries
In Ingredients or Technique

The restaurant pays respects to the tradition and flavors of Kyoto Cuisine,
which makes use of Japan’s freshest ingredients each season,
but their true treats perfectly blend together both Japanese
and Western elements, and they do not shy away from using Western ingredients
or culinary techniques if these are thought to be the best tools for the job.
If the restaurant deems a certain culinary technique to be best suited
for a certain ingredient, they are perfectly willing to pursue flavor
and break the mold of existing techniques as well.
The chance to encounter new dining styles is yet
another attraction of Kappo Fujiwara,
and the restaurant gladly proposes new ways to enjoy all sorts of dishes.
